Watercolour Workshops with Sandra Peck
All workshops with Sandra run from 10.30am to 4pm with a lunch break from
12.30pm to 1.30pm
You are welcome to bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee available from the box office.
Full demonstrations are given covering a wide range of techniques for you to follow step by step to a finished painting. Beginners are always welcome. The price does not include material; however, a palette of colours and paper for the day can be provided for £4 extra. Please order these if you require them when reserving your place. You will need two watercolour brushes; a size 10 or over and a size 3 or 4.
Mountain Range
Thursday 17 January
How to simplify a grand view of mountains, exploring use of colour to show distance in your landscape paintings.
We will also be experimenting with ways to produce interesting textures on rocky mountains and foreground.
Greek Island
Thursday 31 January
How to show strong sunlight on lovely old domed buildings, set against an intense blue Mediterranean sky.
Waterfall
Thursday 14 February
A chance to try out lots of different watercolour techniques to show cascading water, rocks and plants.
Pen and Colour Wash
Thursday 28 February
A useful and quick technique to record a scene. Simple wet into wet colour washes with detail added in pen.
Please bring usual watercolour materials plus a black fine liner pen (either permanent or water-soluble will be suitable).
Subjects supplied but you may also like to bring in an image to work from.
Irish Cottage

A characterful old thatched cottage set in a simple landscape, Lots of lovely wet into wet washes to try, especially in the sky
complete with rainbow.
Pencil Portraits
Charity Day (all proceeds from this course will go to the Children's Care Home Project, India)

For this you only need a pencil and sketchpad, a small mirror would also be useful, to be able get a close look at individual features.
Everything explained and demonstrated. How to get the correct proportions for a portrait and how to shade the contours of the face.
How to draw individual features in detail. You may also bring in a photograph to work from.
